The City of King City maintains an alarm ordinance to protect "emergency services" of the City from misuse.
Periodically, the King City Police Department and City Hall, in partnership with Pride Document Shredding, offers free document shredding for the community. Typically the events are offered on a Saturday morning and conducted in the parking lot of City Hall.

The King City Police Department has joined forces with the Family Justice Center of Washington County, Oregon. The FJC is a collaboration of agencies dedicated to providing support and hope to our neighbors, friends, and families impacted by domestic violence through comprehensive and compassionate healing services.

Police reports can be obtained either in person at the King City Police Department or by mail. A "report request" form is required for each report desired and will become a permanent document filed with the case.
City of King City has recently adopted a vision zero program designed to allow community members the opportunity to alert the King City Police Department to possible traffic problems in their neighborhood. Such complaints might be drivers who repeatedly disobey a stop sign at an intersection, fail to slow down in school zones, or routinely speed at a particular location.
